After getting the boot from Nina Ricci’s fashion house a little over a year ago not much has been heard from Olivier Theyskens. This is odd given the seditious and provocative nature of Oliver’s designs. Luckily for those who love the dark edge of Theyskens Parisian publishing house Assouline, has just released a 140-page book of photos of the young designers work tossing him back into the mix of edgy designers who could potentially fill the fashion whole left following the death of dear Alexander McQueen. The books photo’s were taken by Julien Claessens and the text is by American Vogue’s Sally Singer, the fashion wordsmith rumored to be a potential replacement for Anna Wintour. The surreal photos capture 10 years of backstage goingson at Rochas, Nina Ricci, and Theyskens’ label. The book sells for 96 euros and is out now from www.assouline.com
