Paris Jazz Festival

In addition to performances on the main stage, a huge outdoor amphitheater with covered seats and acoustics that reverberate music over the hundreds of picnicking families, hippies, children and hipsters this year the Paris jazz festival will include smaller improve performances nestled throughout the parc. These small improvised jazz performances are located in the fairytale-esque pine forest and include dance workshops for those brave enough to really get into the summer spirit of acting strange with strangers in the woods. Below is a schedule for the dance workshops which occur each Saturday in June and July.

Qi gong of the 6 sounds proposed by Gérard Renouf

A technique to meditate through sound where each improvised noise is combined with a posture and a corresponding organ. The idea is to create an energy flow that harmonizes organs expresses emotions and develops ones senses.

This is the workshop I am most intregued by, inspierd by the 4 major elements this workshop incorporatesmodern dance, dances inspired by African slaves in Latin America and dances from the Orixas, Yoruba divinities.
